Organizing Committee (OC)
Organizing is the heart of the Labor Movement. Without organizing there is no growth. Without organizing we fail to build power. And here at the Milwaukee Area Labor Council we have launched an organizing committee to help strengthen and build the labor movement in the greater Milwaukee area. In fact, the mission of the Milwaukee Area Labor Council is "Organizing for economic and social justice in the workplace and community."
The mission of the Organizing Committee is to assist our AFL-CIO affiliate unions in current organizing campaigns as well as serve as a first stop for workers who are interested in organizing their workplace. In addition, each Organizing Committee meeting will feature a presentation from a recent or current organizing campaign so that we can come together and learn from each other's experience. Unionism is built on solidarity and the reality that we are stronger together. The Organizing Committee is a place to draw from the knowledge and experience of various union members from a wide range of unions and industries so that we can be about the mission of unionism: organizing.
If you are a union organizer, a rank-and file union member passionate about organizing, a union member interested in learning more about organizing, or a worker in a non-union shop or industry that is interested in organizing a union at your workplace please reach out to me so we can connect and move forward together. You are invited to attend our meetings and become an active member of our Organizing Committee. SOLIDARITY FOREVER!!!
