2022 Community Services Conference- Day 2 & 3
The second day of the WI AFL-CIO Community Services Conference started early with a full schedule of information.
Senator Melissa Agard (D-16) kicked off the morning with a State of the Senate update. Attorney General Josh Kaul addressed the crowd on getting justice for Wisconsinites. WI AFL-CIO Secretary Treasurer Dennis Delie talked about “Labor on the Rise” in Wisconsin.
Participants were able to choose from 8 workshops to attend in 2 different sessions. Topics ranged from unions and community service, to planning for retirement, labor history, and Solidarity is a Verb. This is a great chance to sharpen skills and share ideas with other union members from across the State.
The day wrapped up with updates from the Previant Law Firm. Labor law updates, workers compensation, and WI and Federal FMLA we’re all covered.
The last morning of the conference kicked off with information and a report from Worker Justice Wisconsin that builds collective worker power together with faith and labor allies.
Finally the Community Service Liaisons gave “reports from the field” on all the work being done in our communities.
The 2022 WI AFL-CIO Community Services Conference was insightful, informative, and a chance to meet people from across the State. Hopefully you check it out next year!
